The Moscow carsharing fleet has reached a record high: today it already numbers 40,000 cars, said Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry. According to him, the capital's carsharing service continues to be the largest in the world. For 9 years the number of active users has grown 123 times: from 30 thousand people in 2015 to 1.7 million users in 2024.

As Maxim Liksutov explained, the figure of 40 thousand cars available for rent, according to the Strategy of Moscow transport complex development, was planned to be reached by 2030. But thanks to the coordinated work of the Moscow government, traffic police and operator companies, this mark has been reached already this year.

"At the start of the launch of the service in 2015, there were 350 cars in the car fleet, which were used by about 30 thousand people. Thanks to the support of the Moscow Government and the work of companies, the interest in carsharing has been growing every year. We thank the service operators who, despite the difficulties, continued to update the fleet and improve its reliability and safety for users. We will continue to support the development of carsharing, as well as the transition to environmentally friendly electric cars, as instructed by the Mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin", - said Maxim Liksutov.

At the same time, the carsharing service is becoming more reliable and safer. Thus, from January to November 2024, the number of accidents involving carsharing cars decreased by 17% compared to last year. The average age of cars is 1.5 years, which also increases the safety of travel.
