WSJ reported on Trump's consideration of strikes on Iran over nuclear program

US President-elect Donald Trump is considering striking Iran to prevent the creation of nuclear weapons. This was reported by The Wall Street Journal on December 13, citing sources.
According to the publication, at the moment the team of the US President-elect is working on a strategy to maximize pressure on Iran, which may include military measures along with strengthening sanctions.
"The option of a military strike on nuclear facilities is now being considered more seriously by some members of his transition team," the material says.
It is specified that this could contribute to the violation of the policy of deterrence of Tehran through diplomacy and sanctions. In addition, the newspaper notes that Iran's nuclear breakthrough is very worrying for Trump.
Earlier, on November 30, the head of the French foreign intelligence service (DGSE), Nicolas Lerner, said that Iran's nuclear proliferation would become a serious threat in the coming months.
Prior to that, on November 24, the governments of the United States, Britain, France and Germany supported the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) resolution against Iran. It is specified that the resolution accused Iran of failing to provide the IAEA with information on the use of nuclear materials. The countries also expressed "grave concern" over Iran's decision to launch new centrifuges in response to the resolution.
IAEA chief Rafael Grossi said on Nov. 20 that Iran had begun preparations to stop building up its stockpile of uranium enriched to 60%. He specified that the IAEA and Tehran continue to discuss this issue.
