Russian Foreign Ministry reports on Russian and Chinese consultations on missile defense issues

Russia and China held consultations on missile defense issues on December 11. This was reported on December 13 on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

"The parties held an in-depth discussion of this issue in the context of maintaining global and regional security," the ministry said.

It is specified that the countries exchanged views on medium-range and shorter-range missiles.

According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, Russia and China intend to strengthen dialog and coordination on missile aspects of strategic stability.

The day before, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev said that the trade turnover between Russia and China, despite the opposition of unfriendly states, remains at a very high level.

Earlier, on October 16, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said at a meeting with Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Li Qiang that one of the priorities of Russia's foreign policy is to strengthen relations with the PRC and Mongolia. According to him, Moscow is ready to work together with these countries for common prosperity.

In addition, on October 14, Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov called military cooperation between Russia and China an important element in maintaining global and regional stability. He noted that the friendly relations between the two countries are at an unprecedented level and maintain high dynamics of development.
