The labeling system has helped identify more than 36 million violations in the sale of light industry goods, the press service of the Center for Development of Advanced Technologies (CDAT) told Izvestia on December 13.

It is reported that most of them - 27 million - are related to the sale of goods with incorrect authorization documentation. Also labeling revealed 7 million goods with signs of counterfeiting and 1.5 million goods not put into circulation. In addition, goods with unregistered codes and products of unregistered market participants were detected.

"Market participants are interested in preventing these violations. And we see that their number is decreasing. Compared to last year - a twofold decrease. We pass on all information about violations to both stores and manufacturers, help to understand the reasons, so that they can increase the loyalty of their customers and sell quality goods," Anton Gushchansky, director of control and supervision activities of the CRPT, told Izvestia.

The top-6 regions in terms of the number of violations include Moscow, the Moscow and Smolensk regions, the Udmurt Republic, the Rostov region and St. Petersburg.

In the capital in 2024, 18.7 million violations were recorded, in Moscow region - almost 2.8 million, in Smolensk region - 2.5 million, while Udmurtia recorded 1.5 million, and in Rostov region - 1.2 million. In St. Petersburg, slightly more than 1 million violations were recorded, mainly related to the sale of goods with incorrect authorization documentation.

Earlier, November 6, it was reported that Russia is preparing to tighten the turnover of motor oils and spare parts. The level of counterfeiting among imported brands exceeded 50%. Counterfeit products are proposed to block at the cash registers on sale, and all types of technical fluids and parts for cars to extend mandatory labeling. The corresponding initiative of the Federation Council's Regulations Committee has been sent to the Government and the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
