Russian Armed Forces strike critical Ukrainian facilities in response to ATACMS attack

The Russian Armed Forces (AF) have launched a massive strike on Ukraine's critical facilities in response to the Ukrainian army's strike by US ATACMS missiles on a military airfield in Taganrog. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on December 13.
It was specified that the fire damage was inflicted by high-precision long-range air- and sea-based weapons, as well as strike drones.
"The goal of the strike has been achieved. All objects have been hit," the Defense Ministry said in a statement.
On December 11, the Russian Defense Ministry said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) struck a military airfield in Taganrog with six ATACMS ballistic missiles. Two missiles were shot down with the help of the Pantsir air defense system, while another four were deflected off course by electronic warfare equipment. The agency warned that the attack by Western long-range weapons would not go unanswered.
On December 12, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia's response to Ukraine's strike on the military airfield in Taganrog was inevitable.
The AFU is trying to strike Russian territories against the background of the special operation in Donbass, the start of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
