Deputy head of Izhevsk cemetery administration detained for taking bribes

Employees of the Federal Security Service of Russia in the Udmurt Republic detained the deputy head of the cemetery administration service of Izhevsk "Service of landscaping and road maintenance" because of receiving a bribe on a particularly large scale. This was reported on December 13 in the press service of the investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in the region.

"The suspect systematically received bribes from the representative of a commercial organization for a total of 3.5 million rubles for the performance in favor of this organization of illegal actions related to the allocation of land plots for the burial of dead bodies in the municipal cemeteries "Yuzhnoye" and "Khokhryakovskoye" closed for burial," - noted in the message.

According to the investigation, the suspect is also accused of patronizing and lobbying one of the funeral organizations for commercial interests.

Investigators conducted searches at the place of residence of the detainee. Documents and electronic media were seized.

A criminal case has been opened. A petition to the court to elect a measure of restraint in the form of detention against the man is being prepared.

Earlier, December 12, Basmanny court of Moscow sent former governor of Ryazan region Nikolai Lyubimov to pre-trial detention center in the case of taking a bribe on a particularly large scale. The accused of taking a bribe on a particularly large scale (part 6 of article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) was elected a measure of restraint in the form of remand in custody for a period of two months.
