The Russian military in the NWO zone started using FPV drones with drop-offs

Drone operators of the 1st Tank Regiment of the "West" group of troops in the Special Military Operation (SMO) zone have started using FPV drones with drops. The military told about the training on December 13.

The devices work on the same principle as a regular reconnaissance drone. The FPV drone flies up to a target, drops a munition on it, and then flies back. In order to do this with jewelry, the fighters conduct regular training.

Russian attacks by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are now combined - they are assisted by escorts from the ground. For example, a ground drone-machine, which can carry a 6-kilogram shell, helps to break through minefields and effectively dismantle dugouts.

"The machine is used in conjunction with an aerial repeater that accompanies it. The charge of such a machine allows you to get away for 6-8 kilometers. It has the principle of action like an FPV drone, only the ground version," said the operator of the UAV with the call sign Panama.

In the workshop, drone operators are also studying Ukrainian drones that they managed to land, Izvestia correspondent Oleksandr Fedorchak noted. The fighters extract information from them, which they then use to perform further tasks. The Western Group's drone operators are effectively using the new inventions, which helps the infantry to move the front closer to Kupyansk in Kharkiv Region.

Earlier, on December 7, the Russian Defense Ministry said that FPV drone calculations of the tank unit of the Western Group of Forces destroyed manpower, dugouts and hideouts of Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) fighters in the SSO zone. After an enemy accumulation was spotted in one of the directions, reconnaissance was conducted. Determination of the exact coordinates of the targets made it possible to destroy the AFU forces.

Before that, on December 6, the Russian Defense Ministry said that the calculations of FPV drone strikes of the group of troops "Vostok" destroyed a pickup truck and the living force of AFU fighters in the zone of the North-East Military District.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the aggravated situation in the region.
