Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk on Dec. 12 noted French President Emmanuel Macron's difficulties with handshakes with people named Donald.

"Handshakes with Donalds usually have certain difficulties," Tusk wrote on his social media page X (formerly Twitter), posting a video of him firmly shaking Macron's hand.

In 2018, the media noticed that Macron again firmly squeezed the hand of then-acting US President Donald Trump during a meeting in Paris.

The greetings between the French and US leaders have attracted media attention many times before. During Trump's participation in Bastille Day celebrations in 2017, Macron shook his hand for almost half a minute. Later, the media drew attention to the fact that Trump's hand turned white from the French leader's firm handshake.

Earlier, on December 11, Politico reported that French President Emmanuel Macron would discuss with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk the deployment of peacekeeping forces in Ukraine during their meeting in Warsaw on Thursday, December 12.

On December 8, the US portal Axios quoted diplomatic sources as saying that Trump had no desire to hold a meeting with Zelensky in Paris, but was persuaded to do so by the French leader. The media also pointed out that the final decision to hold the trilateral meeting was made shortly before it began. The conversation between the politicians lasted 45 minutes and was "good and fruitful".
