Russian servicemen provided assistance to a church in the border region of Kursk Oblast

In the border area of Kursk Region, servicemen of the military police of the "North" group of troops rendered assistance to a church and transported icons and books with Holy Scripture to a safe place. This was reported in the Russian Defense Ministry on December 13.

"The evacuation of religious relics, church utensils was organized in order to prevent loss," said the deputy military commandant with the call sign Yalta.

Military police officers carried out transportation to a safe place of valuable religious artifacts from the Holy Trinity Church in Glushkovsky district. Among the removed relics is the Kazan icon of the Mother of God, which is over two centuries old.

In Kursk region, military police of the "North" group of troops continue to help the civilian population. The situation is especially difficult in remote settlements.

Local residents thanked the servicemen of the military grouping of troops "North" for the assistance rendered.

Earlier, on December 11, the Defense Ministry reported that in the border area of Kursk region, servicemen of the separate Guards motorized rifle brigade of the "North" group of troops delivered humanitarian aid to residents of settlements in Lgovsk district, where civilian volunteers cannot reach. The Russian military is also helping civilians with the restoration of infrastructure in the settlements.

Ukrainian militants attacked Russian positions in the border areas of the Kursk region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a federal emergency. The liquidation of the AFU units invading the Russian territory is underway.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
