Pediatrician named the main danger for children at Christmas trees
New Year's trees in the fresh air can threaten a child with frostbite if he spends a long time in wet clothes, Olga Golyzhnikova, a pediatrician at clinics of the Russian Railways-Medicine network, told Izvestia.
Frostbite in strong winds, prolonged exposure to low temperatures cause frostbite, the doctor recalled.
"It is possible even at low temperatures, but with increased humidity, and if the child is wearing wet clothes, most often suffer fingers, toes, ear flaps, nose and cheeks. Listen to the child, periodically interested in his well-being, try to move in the street, "- said the doctor.
When staying outdoors for a long time, she recommended taking a thermos with a warm drink. After large events you should wash your hands, it should become a strict rule, Golyzhnikova emphasized. In case of symptoms of illness you should immediately consult a doctor, she reminded.
