Chinese President Xi Jinping will not go to Washington for the inauguration of US President-elect Donald Trump. This was reported on December 12 by the TV channel CBS News with reference to the interlocutors.

The Chinese ambassador to the United States and his wife are expected to attend the event. According to the interlocutors, representatives of the Chinese diplomatic mission in the United States may be joined by officials from Beijing.

The day before, CBS News reported that Donald Trump invited Xi Jinping to attend his inauguration, which will be held in Washington on January 25.

In November, it was reported that Trump was going to break the deepening partnership between China, Russia, Iran and the DPRK. It was noted that the new American leader is currently without strong support from allies, which puts him at a disadvantage. The best strategy for Trump to boost the confidence of US allies is to help Kiev.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted that Trump's desire to "disengage" Russia and China is incomprehensible, as this cooperation is not directed against the interests of other countries.
