Firefighters rescued a man from the state of Massachusetts, who got stuck in the chimney, hiding from the police. This was reported on December 12 by NBC News with reference to the police.

"A Massachusetts resident fleeing from police on a rooftop Tuesday night "summoned the essence of a seasonal symbol" and hid in a chimney, but got stuck and needed help escaping," the Fall River Police Department said in a statement.

The TV station reported that the fugitive was arrested on drug charges. Prior to his attempt to elude authorities, law enforcement searched the residence.

NBC News added that there were two other men, one of whom managed to escape by jumping off the roof onto a parked car. The second suspect was arrested on drug charges "with less theatrics," police said.

Earlier, on December 6, in Russia detained members of the Colombian cartel "Cali" with 570 kg of cocaine, which were intended for transportation to the European Union. It is specified that the operation to eliminate drug trafficking has been carried out for several years, since the moment when the special services learned about the plans of the South American group to change the routes to the EU countries through Russia. Monitoring of foreign economic relations with Latin America was organized to identify illegal cargoes. The drug syndicate's criminal connections in the Russian Federation were revealed, as noted.
