Nikolai Tsiskaridze allowed the introduction of dress code in theaters

Nikolai Tsiskaridze, People's Artist of Russia and head of the Vaganova Ballet Academy, told Izvestia in an exclusive interview that if theaters introduced a dress code, inappropriately dressed people would not be able to come there.
"Izvestia" asked if he had any desire in his book "Mosaic. Ballet. Nutcracker" to write a chapter on how one should dress for the theater.
"No, because it depends on each person's wealth. Another thing is if the theaters themselves introduce a dress code. I think if the rules for visiting the theater were introduced, people dressed in miniskirts or sandals and sports pants would not be allowed in the auditorium," the artist replied.
He cited a case that happened on tour in Egypt.
"When we danced at the Cairo Opera House, the audience could not enter the hall without a tie. Our artistic director was not allowed in. It was hot and he came in a suit, but he didn't wear a tie," Tsiskaridze recalled.
