Expert tells of NATO supplies of mines with magnetic fuses to the Strategic Air Defense Forces zone

Mines that explode when approaching metal objects are supplied to the Ukrainian side in fairly large quantities by Western countries, military expert Yuriy Lyamin told Izvestiya.

"They are used very actively. Such mines are very sensitive, and there have already been cases of detonations. The battlefield has changed. Mines are no longer only buried in the ground, and they are detonated not only from being stepped on or run over," the expert said.

According to Yuri Lyamin, special tools are needed to work with such mines.

So he commented on the news that the humanitarian demining service operating in Donbass began to supply non-magnetic sapper kits. They include mine markers made of durable plastic material, sapper styli with two dielectric needles, humanitarian demining markers made of fiberglass and other equipment that does not contain metal elements.

All parts of the set are made of high-quality domestic materials. Before development, the manufacturers consulted with sappers engaged in humanitarian demining in the new territories.
