Google Play will ban monetization for apps from Russia

Google Play from December 26 "indefinitely" stops cooperation with developers whose bank accounts are registered in Russia. This was reported on December 13 by the Habr portal.
"This means that starting December 26, 2024, we will reject all attempts by users to purchase your paid apps, make in-app purchases (including new subscriptions) and renew subscriptions through Google Play payments" - said representatives of the company.
Earlier, on August 14, Google began deleting Russian AdSense accounts without prior notice. Some Russian authors received messages saying that their AdSense accounts would be deactivated by the end of August. However, bloggers who faced account blocking on August 14 did not receive such notifications. The reasons for this discrepancy are not known.
On August 1, Russian users of video hosting YouTube began complaining about the slowdown in the platform's operation. Due to technical difficulties, a decrease in views of bloggers from Russia became noticeable. On August 12, the press service of the service "VK Video" reported that according to the results of the first week of August, the installation schedule of the application of the same name increased by 2.2 times compared to the previous month.
In 2022, after the start of the special military operation of the Russian Federation to protect Donbass, Google's monetization system was disabled along with advertising for Russian users. After that, bloggers could earn income thanks to views counted from other countries.
