A man accused of cocaine smuggling extradited from Colombia to Russia

Ramirez Munoz, accused of smuggling and trafficking in narcotic drugs, was extradited from the Republic of Colombia to Russia accompanied by officers of the NCB Interpol of the Russian Interior Ministry and the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia. This was reported in the press service of the Interior Ministry on December 12.

"Today at the international airport El Dorado of Bogotá the accused was handed over to representatives of Russian law enforcement agencies for delivery to Moscow," - said the official representative of the Russian Interior Ministry Irina Volk.

According to preliminary information, in May 2016, the accused, together with accomplices, organized the transportation of cocaine from Colombia to Russia by air. The drug with a total weight of more than 3.2 kg was hidden in two postal items.

Volk also noted that in November 2017, the defendant in the case was put on an international wanted list and thanks to the involvement of Interpol channels was detained on the territory of Colombia.

Earlier, on December 6, officers of the Federal Security Service and the Federal Customs Servicedetained members of the Colombian cartel "Cali" with 570 kg of cocaine, which were intended for transportation to the European Union.
