The share of European trade partners of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) has decreased by about 2.5 times, the union has completed its realignment to the Global South, Minister for Trade of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Andrei Slepnev said in an interview with Izvestia.

"Now there is a shift of our trade priorities from Western countries to the states of the Global South. If you look at the figures until 2022, you can see that the share of the EU was over 40%, the share of the Global South countries was also less than half. Today, the share of our European partners has decreased by about 2.5 times. The share of the Global South countries has been steadily growing, and now we predict that by the end of 2024 it will amount to 75% of our trade turnover," he said.

The minister added that the realignment to the Global South has in fact been completed.
