Almost 500 heads of farm animals without documents tried to smuggle to Stavropol Territory from September to December 2024. This was reported by the press service of the North Caucasus Department of Rosselkhoznadzor on Thursday, December 12.

Employees of the agency conducted 23 raids aimed at suppressing the illegal movement of animals and products. The inspection revealed 20 cases of transportation of supervised cargoes with violations of the law.

Thus, 366 sheep and goats, 127 cows and five pigs were tried to be imported and exported without veterinary documents. All the livestock was sent to quarantine and will be registered in the future.

As StavropolMedia IA notes, raids are conducted to prevent the import and spread of diseases among animals, which can adversely affect the epizootic situation and cause economic damage to farms.
