Air defense forces destroyed 10 AFU drones over Russian territory

The Russian military, with the help of air defense forces, has foiled an attempted terrorist attack by members of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) against facilities on Russian territory. This was reported in the Russian Defense Ministry on December 12.

"On-duty air defense means destroyed ten Ukrainian UAVs: six UAVs - over the Rostov region and four - over the territory of Belgorod region," - said the ministry.

Earlier, on December 12, it became known about the destruction of five drones of the AFU over the Rostov region with the help of air defense at around 22:00 Moscow time.

Before that, on the same day, Russian air defense forces destroyed two drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine over Belgorod region. The Defense Ministry specified that the attempted terrorist attack was foiled at 19:35 Moscow time.

The AFU is trying to strike Russian territories against the background of the special operation in Donbass, the beginning of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
