Traumatologist told about safety rules when riding on winter slides

In winter, for the safety of children it is necessary to choose comfortable non-slip shoes to avoid injury not only on slides and skating rinks, but also on ordinary surfaces due to icy conditions. This was stated by Alexander Grigoriev, chief freelance pediatric traumatologist, orthopedist of the Ministry of Health of the Moscow region, chief physician of the Moscow Regional Children's Clinical Trauma and Orthopedic Hospital on Thursday, December 12.
"Speaking of skiing from slides, it is necessary to control that it takes place only on equipped slopes. Often winter entertainment ends in children's injuries when skating where trees grow, lampposts stand or something else. This is especially true for such unmanageable means of transportation as water trampolines," the expert said in a conversation with Radio 1.
He added that riding on water trampolines is a pleasant and fun pastime, if you follow all the rules.
He added that if a child does get bruised, an ambulance should be called.
"The doctor will assess the extent of the damage, provide first aid and write a referral to a hospital or trauma center. If the child has lost consciousness, then you need to minimize his movement, not drag, and wait for an ambulance," - concluded the specialist.
Earlier, on December 11, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for housing and communal services and landscaping Pyotr Biryukov said that in all districts of the capital began to work more than 110 open skating rinks with artificial ice, reports the agency of city news "Moscow".
