McIntosh set a world record at the World Short Course Swimming Championships

Canada's Summer McIntosh set a world record in the 200m butterfly at the World Short Course Swimming Championships on Thursday, December 12. The tournament is being held in Budapest.

McIntosh covered the distance in 1 minute 59.32 seconds. The silver medalist was American Regan Smith, she was 1.68 seconds behind her rival. Australia's Elizabeth Dekkers took third place, 3.59 seconds behind her rivals.

Summer McIntosh, 18, is a three-time Olympic champion and also won one silver medal at the Paris Games.

Earlier on December 11, Russian swimmers won gold in the 4 x 50m combined relay at the World Short Course Swimming Championships taking place in Budapest from December 10-15.
