A teenager was injured after a car collided with a lamppost in St. Petersburg


A 21-year-old driver of a passenger car crashed into a lamppost on Nevsky Prospekt in St. Petersburg. About it on December 12 reported in the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the city and the Leningrad region.
"The 21-year-old driver of the car BMW, moving along Nevsky Prospekt from Vosstaniya Square towards Marata Street, failed to cope with the control and made a collision with a lamppost", - stated in the message of the department in Telegram-channel.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of the incident, a 16-year-old passenger of the car was injured, he was hospitalized. During the proceedings it turned out that the driver of the foreign car was drunk.
A criminal case under Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of traffic rules, resulting in serious harm to health") was initiated against the offender.
Earlier, on December 6, in Uvelsky district of Chelyabinsk region, a man died as a result of overturning of a car under the control of a drunk driver. The 41-year-old driver of "VAZ-2110" exceeded the speed limit, lost control and allowed skidding. The car flew off the roadway into the ditch and overturned. As a result of the accident, the 61-year-old passenger of the "ten" received various injuries, from which he died on the spot.
