The media told about the Soviet bomber that frightened the U.S. military leadership

The Soviet strategic bomber M-4 (according to NATO codification - "Bison-A") scared the US military leadership. Christian Orr, a columnist for the American magazine The National Interest (TNI), said on December 11.
"A few years after the appearance of the Bull (Bull - designation of the Tu-4 aircraft. - Ed.), the Russians developed another bomber "-4", which truly frightened the military and political establishment of America", - wrote Orr.
The first flight of this aircraft took place in 1953, and two years later it was adopted into service. The Soviet strategic bomber had four turbojet engines that provided a top speed of up to 947 kilometers per hour.
The M-4 could carry both bomb and missile loads. At the same time, these airplanes did not participate in combat operations.
Earlier, on October 7, TNI wrote that the Lira-class titanium submarine developed in the USSR was superior to all American submarines of the Cold War period.
