- Beglov congratulated Russian Grids' branch in St. Petersburg on its 100th anniversary

Alexander Beglov, Governor of St. Petersburg, and Andrey Murov, First Deputy Director General of PJSC ROSSETI, congratulated the Cable Network, a branch of ROSSETI Lenenergo, on its 100th anniversary. In honor of the event, more than 50 employees were awarded, the holding's press service reported.
According to Beglov, over the past century "Cable Network" has become a key link in the energy infrastructure of St. Petersburg.
"Thanks to you there is light in the homes of Petersburgers, schools, hospitals, transportation work. Without reliable power engineering it would be impossible to realize our megaprojects - such as the High-Speed Railroad, the resort "St. Petersburg Marina", the streetcar line "Kupchino - Shushary - Slavyanka", - said the head of the city.
Murov reminded that it was in the northern capital that Russia's first cable plant was opened and basic approaches to the creation of the underground power grid were developed. Now it is the main element of power supply schemes of all megacities. In St. Petersburg, Cable Network provides 95% of all buildings with electricity.
"The city is growing, the energy sector is developing with it. In the last five years alone, Russian Grids has allocated 57 billion rubles for the modernization and construction of St. Petersburg's cable networks," he stressed.
A large-scale renovation of infrastructure is underway in the area of Nevsky Prospekt, near the Smolny Cathedral, St. Isaac's Square, and on the right bank of the Neva River, Murov added. For this purpose, the most modern solutions are used, including the products of local enterprises.
