In recent years, there has been a growing interest in compact trips to neighboring places, especially among citizens of large cities. Yulia Morozova, Head of PR Department of Palmira hotel chain, told Izvestia on December 13 about travel preferences of Russians.

"Among the key trends we can distinguish two directions: active trips to cities with a rich sightseeing program and quiet rest outside the city, including walks, rest in hotels and visiting SPA", - Morozova notes.

According to her, modern travelers are looking for unique experiences, which contributes to the emergence of new types of recreation. For example, thematic tourism has become increasingly popular among Russians for several years in a row. Gastronomic tourism is actively developing and is in high demand. At the same time, movie tourism is just beginning to develop.

"The growing demand for comfort and convenience stimulates the development of all-inclusive systems even outside traditional resort areas. Travelers appreciate the opportunity to plan their travel budget in advance, knowing that all expenses are included in the cost of accommodation," said the specialist.

In addition, the emergence of the term jomo-tourism (Joy of Missing Out) denotes a new philosophy in the field of travel. In contrast to the usual desire to be always in the center of attention and have time for all events, jomo-tourism offers to enjoy solitude, slow down the pace of life and connect with nature. In turn, sleep tourism is a new trend that helps to improve the quality of sleep and restore physical and psycho-emotional resources. This type of tourism is especially important for those travelers who often face time zone differences and suffer from insomnia.

"The bill on accessibility of tourism for people with disabilities, adopted in the first reading, opens prospects for the development of inclusive vacation. Despite the fact that major hotel chains have already created a barrier-free environment on their territories, there is still much to be done to create conditions for unhindered access to tourist infrastructure in the country," Morozova summarized.

Earlier, on December 2, project director of SberStrakhovanie Elena Kosheleva told "Izvestia" about how to prepare for a trip to minimize the risks of unexpected expenses. According to her, it is necessary to calculate the main expenses, learn the rules for importing goods and products, as well as to think about payment methods in advance.
