A Ukrainian was denied Austrian citizenship because he did not sing the national anthem at the ceremony. This was reported by the publication Kurier on December 12.

"For the fact that the Ukrainian refused to sing the national anthem at the ceremony of awarding Austrian citizenship in the district headquarters of Baden, he is deprived of the right to receive it," - stated in the article.

It is noted that the decision to grant citizenship to the man was withdrawn by the government of the state of Lower Austria. The article points out that the Ukrainian, presumably, earlier stated his unwillingness to perform the anthem at the ceremony. The material specified that the local administration referred to the article, which states that the procedure should be accompanied by the performance of the anthem at the flags of Austria.

"Anyone who refuses to identify with Austria, only shows that he is unwilling to accept the basic principles of our homeland", - the publication quotes the words of the Vice President of the state Udo Landbauer.

In September, it became known that Ukrainian businessman Ihor Kolomoyskyy (listed in Russia in the register of terrorists and extremists) was among the eight people who were deprived of citizenship by the Council of Ministers of Cyprus. In its decision to revoke citizenship, the Council of Ministers noted that Kolomoyskyy's naturalization posed a huge risk to the reputation of the Republic of Cyprus.
