Experts assessed the demand for rental housing in the New Year

The greatest demand among Russians is for pre-New Year rentals in Moscow, Kazan and St. Petersburg. This conclusion was reached by analysts of Sberbank's Domklik division, having studied the demand for daily rentals in various Russian cities during the upcoming New Year holidays.
The demand for daily rentals among tourists traveling in Russian cities is constantly growing, experts say. According to the Domklik survey, the majority of users (70%) have a positive attitude to the idea of renting an apartment for daily rent. The main advantage of daily rent is a more favorable price compared to hotels, which was mentioned by slightly more than a third of respondents (32%). Among other advantages respondents highlight the availability of necessary equipment in the apartment (21%), a wide choice of apartments for every taste and purse (13%), as well as a cozy atmosphere (4%).
"More and more travelers give preference to short-term rentals due to such advantages as favorable cost, wide choice of apartments and convenience of booking. New Year holidays are no exception. According to the Domklik24 service, the median daily rental rate during the New Year holidays is about 4.9 thousand rubles, and the median rental period is 4 days," said Alexey Leipi, director of Sberbank's Domklik division.
According to the research, the most popular city for tourists during the New Year holidays was Moscow: the share of the Russian capital accounts for almost 20% of all booked apartments. The median daily rental rate in Moscow reaches 6.8 thousand rubles. The second place in the rating is occupied by Kazan with the share of 16%. The third place is occupied by St. Petersburg (14%). The average rental price in these cities is the same - 5.8 thousand rubles. The top 10 popular cities for daily rent include Nizhny Novgorod, Kislovodsk, Tyumen, as well as cities in the south of Russia - Sochi, Krasnodar and Rostov-on-Don.
