Acting President of Abkhazia Badra Gunba called strengthening of strong relations with Russia a priority and congratulated Russian President Vladimir Putin on Constitution Day. This was reported on December 12 by the press service of the Acting President of Abkhazia in Telegram-channel.
"Strengthening strong allied relations with Russia is a priority for the leadership of Abkhazia. I am confident that, based on friendship and mutual respect, they will continue to develop for the benefit of our peoples," the message reads.
Badra Gunba expressed sincere gratitude for the assistance and support that the Russian Federation has provided to Abkhazia, as well as for ensuring the security of the republic from external threats.
He also wished Putin and all Russians peace well-being and prosperity.
On December 9, acting Prime Minister of Abkhazia Valery Bganba called on Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin to return social payments in the republic.
Later, on December 10, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia and Abkhazia were discussing the investment agreement and social payments to the republic's residents.
