Time magazine has declared Donald Trump the man of the year


US magazine Time on December 12 recognized US President-elect Donald Trump as the person of the year.
"Donald Trump is Time magazine's person of the year," the magazine said in a statement published on the publication's page on the social network X (former Twitter).
The shortlist of contenders also includes 2024 US presidential candidate and vice-presidential candidate Kamala Harris, entrepreneur Ilon Musk, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, British Princess Kate Middleton and Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum.
Earlier in the day, Trump's son Donald Trump - Jr. published a video of his father pushing Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky (term expired May 20) off the cover of Times magazine.
The day before, Politico reported that Trump would be named Time magazine's person of the year.
Earlier, in 2016, Trump was already announced the man of the year according to Time. It was specified that then the short list included Hillary Clinton, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former leader of the United Kingdom Independence Party Nigel Farage.
