Russian Armed Forces liberate Novoivanovka in Kursk Region

The Russian Armed Forces have liberated the village of Novoivanovka in Kursk Region. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on December 12.

"Units of the "North" grouping of troops have liberated the settlement of Novoivanovka in the course of offensive actions," the report says.

In addition, the Russian military defeated formations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the areas of Viktorovka, Guevo, Kruglenkoye, Lebedevka, Leonidovo, Malaya Loknya, Martynovka, Nikolayevo-Daryino, Nikolskoye and Sverdlikovo.

According to the Defense Ministry, the losses of the Ukrainian army amounted to more than 200 people during the day. The Russian army also eliminated a tank, an infantry fighting vehicle, two armored fighting vehicles, four vehicles and three mortars of the enemy.

The day before, the Russian Armed Forces liberated the villages of Daryino and Plekhovo in the Sujan district of Kursk Region. Then the Russian military defeated 12 brigades of the Ukrainian army in the areas of nine settlements in the region's border area.

On the same day, the crew of the Su-34 multirole supersonic fighter-bomber of the Russian Air and Space Forces (VKS) struck a strike on the place of concentration of AFU manpower, armored and automotive equipment in the Kursk border region. All targets were successfully destroyed.

The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of Kursk Region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a federal emergency. The operation to destroy the militants continues.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
