Tsukanov, the region's Minister of Digital Development and Communications, was detained in the Omsk Region

The vice-governor of Omsk Region, Minister of Digital Development and Communications of the region Denis Tsukanov has been detained and taken to Moscow. This was reported by a source of Izvestiya on December 12.

Basmanny court of the capital is to choose a measure of restraint for the detained official in the near future. Other circumstances and the essence of the case have not been disclosed yet.

Tsukanov was appointed deputy chairman of the regional government on July 11, 2023. Prior to that, he held the position of deputy chairman of the government of the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR). From 2012 to 2022, he was Deputy Director of the Department of Regional Industrial Policy and Project Management of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.

Before that, on November 30, the source of "Izvestiya" reported on the arrest of the former deputy head of the Ministry of Transport Alexei Semenov. The official was taken into custody in the case of FGUP "ProtectionInfoTrans". The court arrested him for two months. A criminal case was opened under part 4 of article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud committed by an organized group on a particularly large scale").
