One worker killed when rock collapsed at a mine in the Sverdlovsk region

One worker died in a rock collapse at the Urals mine "Novo-Kalinskaya" in Severouralsk, Sverdlovsk region. This was reported on December 12 in the press service of the regional prosecutor's office.

"The prosecutor's office of Severouralsk organized an inspection of compliance with safety requirements in the production of mining operations in connection with the collapse at the mine "Novo-Kalinskaya" JSC "SUBR", which resulted in the death of a worker", - stated in the message.

It was preliminarily established that on December 12 at about 10:23 (6:23 Moscow time) local time at the North mine No. 13 as a result of a mountain-tectonic impact there was a collapse of rock, as a result of which a worker of the cleaning face born in 1999 suffered.

During the ascent his condition worsened, and despite the medical assistance provided, he died.

At the moment the mine is operating in normal mode, work has been temporarily suspended only in the rock caving area.

Severouralsk prosecutor Vitaly Sapozhnikov went to the scene.

Earlier, on November 16, in the mining branch of the mine "Tashtagolskaya" in the Kemerovo region there was a roof collapse. As a result, 183 miners were evacuated. On the same day, rescuers of the Russian Emergencies Ministry recovered the body of a miner who died as a result of the roof collapse from under the rubble.

The prosecutor's office organized an investigation into the collapse at the mine and supervised the progress of the criminal investigation under Article 217 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of industrial safety requirements for hazardous production facilities").
