While AvtoVAZ is ramping up production and developing new models after foreign partners and suppliers left the Russian Federation, major Western car companies, including those that left the Russian market, are experiencing problems. This was stated by the head of AvtoVAZ Maxim Sokolov, Izvestia correspondent reports from the car plant in Togliatti.

"Against the background of the successes that AvtoVAZ has, which it is impossible not to recognize, the plants that have the status of global auto giants, such as Volkswagen, are cutting back enterprises, and in the heart of the German auto industry. Nissan announced possible bankruptcy within a year. A number of other major global enterprises and component manufacturers have also announced layoffs or even closure or sale of factory complexes," Sokolov said. - Sokolov said.

At the same time AvtoVAZ deployed its main assets in Togliatti and Izhevsk and reached peak levels of labor productivity, including robotization of production, said the top manager. For example, the level of automation on the welding line of the new Lada Iskra model will reach 37% in two stages. This is a high level for this volume of production, Sokolov pointed out.

Also on this day, the head of AvtoVAZ said that the company plans to produce 12 new modifications and models until 2030, including a new family of Lada Iskra and a crossover based on Lada Vesta, as well as a minivan.

In addition, according to the top manager, in 2025, prices for Lada cars will increase, but the growth is planned to be kept below inflation.
