Pouring of the skating rink began on Konnom Island in Irkutsk

Pouring of the skating rink with the area of 4.8 thousand square meters together with ice lanes has begun on the Konnom Island in Irkutsk. The works are planned to be completed on December 22, the press service of the city administration reports on Thursday, December 12.
As told in MKU "Urban Environment", the contractor has started snow compaction. Next, the base of the rink will be poured with cold water and then hot water to level the surface. The final stages will be ice trimming on uneven areas and grinding. This approach ensures high quality ice and safety for visitors.
The maintenance of the rink will continue throughout the winter, writes IA IrkutskMedia. Timely cleaning and restoration of damaged areas are planned, which will ensure comfortable skating throughout the season.
Earlier in December it was reported that during December 240 dangerous poplars, which threaten the life and health of citizens, will be cut down in the center of Irkutsk. These are dry-topped, diseased trees with hollows at the main trunk or its inclination of more than 30 degrees.
