After the emergency shutdown the work of Ingurskaya HPP in Abkhazia has been restored. This was reported by the press service of Chernomorenergo on December 12.

The shutdown occurred the day before, because of this there was no electricity throughout the territory of Abkhazia.

"The work of IngurHES in Abkhazia restored after the emergency shutdown due to a drop in the water level in the reservoir of the station," - reported "RIA Novosti" in the press service.

It is specified that the station turned on automatically after the water level rose slightly.

The company also shared that at the current moment the inflow at Ingur HPP is enough to provide Abkhazia with electricity for 2 hours and 48 minutes a day. "Chernomorenergo" added that between 21:00 and 07:00 local time the state receives electricity from Russia by overflow.

Earlier, on December 9, acting Prime Minister of Abkhazia Valery Bganba announced the closure of schools and kindergartens in Abkhazia due to the emergency in the energy sector. It was noted that the measures taken will be in effect for a week. He also called on Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin to return social payments in the republic.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the situation, said that Russia and Abkhazia were discussing the topics of the investment agreement and social payments to the residents of the republic.
