Rosselkhoznadzor will ban the import of sunflower and corn seeds from four countries into Russia

Rosselkhoznadzor will impose a ban on supplies of sunflower and corn seeds to Russia due to the detection of quarantine objects for Russia and EEU member countries. This was reported in the press service of Rosselkhoznadzor on December 12.

"Measures have been taken in connection with the detection of quarantine for Russia and EAEU member countries objects, namely fomopsis of sunflower, corn leaf spotting and brown-marble bug," - noted in the department.

Restrictions on supply to Russia will affect Chile, Turkey, Hungary and France.

It is noted that from December 13, 2024 in Russia can not be imported sunflower seeds of Chilean production, and from December 16 import restrictions will affect corn seeds from Turkey, France and Hungary.

Before that, on December 6, Rosselkhoznadzor denied the ban on import of mandarins from Abkhazia. Earlier, acting Prime Minister of Abkhazia Valery Bganba said that Russia had allegedly banned the import of tangerines, referring to the decision of sanitary services, but the agency pointed out that this information was incorrect.
