The Swedish prosecutor's office has terminated investigations against the striker of Spanish soccer club Real Madrid and the French national team Kylian Mbappe in a rape case. This was reported on December 12 by the Swedish newspaper Expressen.

"The investigation revealed a reasonable suspicion of rape and two cases of sexual harassment, but in my assessment, the evidence is insufficient to continue the case, so the investigation is closed," the publication quoted senior prosecutor Marina Chirakova as saying.

Expressen wrote about the allegations against Mbappe on October 15. According to the newspaper, on October 10, the footballer together with friends came to Stockholm to visit a local restaurant and visit the largest club in the city near Stureplan Square. After the party, the company stayed at the Bank Hotel, where the alleged rape took place. Mbappe called the news a fake.

The footballer's lawyer Marie Alice Cailloux-Bérinard reported on October 15 that he had asked to file a complaint against the allegations.
