AvtoVAZ will produce 12 new modifications and models by 2030

Until 2030, AvtoVAZ plans to produce 12 new modifications and models, including a new family of Lada Iskra and crossover based on Lada Vesta, as well as a minivan. This was announced on December 12 by the head of the car company Maxim Sokolov, reports Izvestia correspondent from the manufacturing plant in Togliatti.

"Until 2030, we plan to launch about 12 new modifications and models, and we confirm these plans. If we were not flexible, we would not be able to make quick management decisions. We responded to challenges in terms of sanctions pressure and the exit of shareholders who own most of our suppliers' businesses. Today, the lineup of suppliers includes more than 1,600 enterprises employing 500,000 people, and we realize the huge responsibility that AvtoVAZ bears as the flagship of the domestic auto industry," Sokolov said.

The top manager confirmed that the AvtoVAZ Board of Directors has set a plan of 500 thousand cars produced in 2025. It is realistic to realize it, taking into account that now every 25 seconds a new car comes off the assembly line. However, as Sokolov noted, the issue is the future of the market, which depends on macroeconomic and geopolitical factors. Right now, a 30% decline in the market is being recorded.

"Chinese companies, like piranhas in our pond, have set up a squabble among themselves for our sector. The fact that we still hold about 30% of the market is a great achievement. But this is in terms of the number of cars sold. And if we talk about money, we hold only 10% of the market. If the market shrinks, we will adjust. Utilization fee does not work yet, the Chinese car industry has imported about 500 thousand cars, and they are still pressing on our market. When they are dismantled, we will fight in the open - taking into account the barriers that are justifiably set by the customs and tariff policy and the utilization fee. And then we will switch conveyors to another speed", - explained the head of AvtoVAZ.

On the eve it was reported that production of the new model Lada Iskra will start in the first half of 2025. The model in the sedan body will account for half of the output, another 25% each for the station wagon and station wagon Cross.

On November 28, AvtoVAZ announced that it will introduce a new B+ segment crossover on the Lada Vesta platform in summer 2025 at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF). A key project in 2025 will be the launch of Lada Iskra production, and one of the nearest new products will be the Niva Sport SUV. Upgrades to popular models are also planned, including the introduction of a more modern 1.8-liter engine on the Niva family.
