Russian President Vladimir Putin presents state awards to outstanding Russians in the Catherine Hall of the Grand Kremlin Palace on December 12. "Izvestia" is broadcasting the event live.

The ceremony is attended by more than 30 people awarded orders, medals and honorary titles. Among them are representatives of public and religious organizations, statesmen, journalists, teachers and mentors, artists and composers, health care workers, industry and agriculture.

On December 9, Putin presented the "Gold Star" medals to the military men who were awarded the title of Heroes of Russia. The ceremony was timed to coincide with the Day of Heroes of the Fatherland.
