Muscovites were advised not to use personal cars on December 16-25

In Moscow from December 16 to 25, one should not use a personal car. Such a recommendation was made by analysts of the Traffic Management Center (TMC), reports the capital deptrans in its Telegram-channel on December 12.

The Center explained that during this period the number of cars on the streets will increase by 30-50 thousand compared to the beginning of December and will exceed 2.91 million units. The Center noted that traffic is expected to be especially difficult at major shopping centers, train stations and airports, as well as in the city center. In addition, snowfalls may affect the traffic congestion on the roads.

Analysts advised to use public transport in these days, or go shopping before December 16 or after December 25, when the roads will be freer.

According to Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport Maxim Liksutov, according to forecasts, on January 1, the number of cars on the roads of the capital will decrease to 1.22 million. During the New Year vacations the figure will be an average of 2.08 million cars, which is 29% less than in the busiest week of December.

Several factors influence the price increase

The day before it was reported that in Moscow refused to use moulages of road cameras of photo-video fixation of violations. This was reported by the head of the Central Road Traffic Department Mikhail Kizlyk. In some regions such moulages are used to save budgetary funds. According to the idea, drivers can confuse the moulage with a real camera and reduce speed.
