Popova reported full import substitution of tests for topical infections in Russia

Russia has 100% import substitution of all tests to detect topical infections, Rospotrebnadzor head Anna Popova said on December 12.
"We managed to 100% import substitution of all tests for topical research. To create our own enzymes in order to form, create such tests," she said at an international scientific and practical conference on countering infectious diseases, which was broadcast on the Rutube channel of the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library.
According to Popova, at the moment Russia has created 49 rapid tests for detection of various infections with the help of new technologies. In particular, we are talking about tests for the diagnosis of plague, anthrax, smallpox of monkeys, Ebola, influenza, malaria, tuberculosis, measles and typhoid, she specified.
Earlier, on November 7, it became known that employees of MIPT develop a portable device to detect infections at the site of medical care. The device could potentially replace PCR-tests. The main detail of the invention - a thin optical element, the so-called metalinza. Scientists have already assembled the first prototype, and a full-fledged prototype of the sensor is planned to be created by the end of 2025.
