AvtoVAZ has produced 1 million cars since 2022

AvtoVAZ announced the production of the millionth car since the departure in 2022 of a foreign shareholder and suppliers from unfriendly countries. The jubilee car was a business sedan Lada Aura. This was reported on December 12 by the Izvestia correspondent from the car company's plant in Togliatti.

"Today we released the first millionth car since our former foreign partners fled Russia in 2022. It was they who predicted a long downtime for us after their departure, and it was they who were wrong and underestimated the potential of AvtoVAZ and the true Russian character!" - Maxim Sokolov, head of AvtoVAZ, said.

In June 2022, AvtoVAZ resumed car production, with the first LADA Granta Classic of the 2022 model year coming off the assembly line. Since then, the company has been restoring production and bringing back to the market in-demand models, options, and working on new projects. Following the Granta, the Niva family returned to the assembly line, Lada cars again received air conditioning, airbags, multimedia system, ABS and other options.

In 2023, AvtoVAZ resumed assembly of the Lada Vesta, with production moved to Togliatti. In Izhevsk, where Vesta was previously assembled, the production of the Lada Largus family started in 2024. As noted in the company, this transformation of production allowed to optimize capacity at the enterprises and lay the foundation for future models: it is on the Vesta platform that AvtoVAZ is developing its promising crossover.

In September 2024, the electronic stability control system (ESC) returned to Vesta, and it was localized in Russia. Now the average level of localization across the model range exceeds 95%. The plant produces a car every 25 seconds.

The day before it was reported that the production of the new model Lada Iskra will start in the first half of 2025. The model in the sedan body will account for half of the output, another 25% - for the station wagon and station wagon Cross.

Also on Wednesday, AvtoVAZ demonstrated a business sedan Lada Aura in the specification for passenger transportation. Lada Aura for cabs is available in the basic Premier configuration, which includes 16-inch disks and fabric upholstery of seats instead of 17-inch and leather upholstery in the more expensive Status configuration.
