Putin instructed to develop measures to support the Russian coal industry


Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed to urgently develop a plan to support the Russian coal industry during a meeting with the government on December 11. This was reported by Russian Energy Minister Sergey Tsivilev.
"Based on the results of the review, it is instructed to develop measures to support the coal industry as soon as possible <...> The coal industry of the Russian Federation and the coal industry of Kuzbass will continue to develop, and coal miners have great and long prospects in working in the coal industry," Tsivilev said.
He noted that it is coal miners who provide Russians with heat and electricity, and their products are very much appreciated all over the world.
Earlier, on September 17, Alexander Daniltsev, director of the Trade Policy Institute of the National Research University Higher School of Economics, told Izvestia that coal has always been an important commodity for Russia, and the demand for it in the countries remains. At the same time, according to him, Russian coal is primarily in demand in Asia.
