The Defense Ministry showed footage of sniper pairs working in the border area of Kursk Region

The Defense Ministry on December 12 showed footage of the combat work of an Airborne Forces sniper pair eliminating Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) fighters in Kursk Region.

The video shows how the snipers chose a convenient position and prepared to shoot. After preparation, the second number gave target designation, and the first opened fire on target. The first shot, from a distance of more than 1 kilometer, destroyed the enemy in the wooded area. Next, the sniper pair promptly changed the firing position and continued to conduct aimed fire, destroying three more militants of the Kiev regime.

"In our unit and in general in all other units there are also a lot of good guys-snipers, specialists who fulfill the task," said the sniper pair with call signs Pluto and Legion.

The soldiers of the separate Guards Airborne Airborne Assault Troops have been participating since the first day of the special military operation (SMO). On their account are several dozen destroyed Ukrainian nationalists in the border areas of Kursk region.

Earlier, on November 24, fighters of the sniper unit of the 25th Army of Army Group "West" destroyed AFU fighters in the Serebryansky Forest. As noted by Izvestia correspondent Alexander Fedorchak, snipers now go out on missions in three, the third is a specialist with a new equipment "Harpy" - fights with FPV-drones. The device calculates their frequency and in case of what can even land.

Earlier, on November 14, the Russian Defense Ministry published footage of the combat work of snipers of the Vostok group of troops from Buryatia on the South Donetsk direction of the Strategic Defense Forces. The snipers move in groups of two or three people on foot, or more often by crawling, carrying dozens of kilograms of equipment and weapons.

The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of Kursk Region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a federal emergency. The liquidation of the Ukrainian militants who invaded the Russian territory is underway.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
