Analysts told about the rise in the price of New Year's gifts

Sweet New Year gifts in December this year cost 12-13% more expensive for Russians than a year earlier, according to the data available to Izvestia from the analytical center "Chek Index" of the company "Platform OFD".
In early December, the average check for a sweet New Year's gift of 500-600 g amounted to 791 rubles, which is 12% higher than last year. For gifts weighing from 800 g to 1 kg spent an average of 1.3 thousand rubles, which is 13% higher than last year.
"In December this year, sales of sweet gifts are noticeably higher than last year's levels. Mainly as a result of realization of the demand postponed from autumn due to warmer weather, synchronously with high sales of New Year's paraphernalia", - noted the experts of "Check Index".
This year more buy sweet gifts of 800 g to 1 kg, which are designed primarily for children of primary and secondary school age. Whereas a year earlier more bought sweet sets weighing 500-600 g. The average check for chocolate and sweet gifts is growing due to the rise in the price of cocoa beans, as well as against the background of the overall growth of consumption in the country, analysts believe.
