OSCE special envoy to Ukraine to prepare Kiev for EU and NATO accession

The special representative of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) chairmanship in Ukraine, Czech diplomat Petr Mareš, appointed by a group of countries, will be in charge of preparing Kiev for joining the EU and NATO. He told Izvestia.
"I spoke with the Finnish foreign minister, she emphasized that I should be in the closest contact with the Ukrainian authorities. I will not send them F-16s and Abrams, no missiles, but I will prepare them for the future partnership and membership of Ukraine in the EU and NATO - these are my tasks", - said Maresh.
At the same time, the Russian side was not informed about this appointment. The decision was made by 55 out of 57 countries, bypassing Russia and Belarus.
