The country's main New Year's tree was delivered to the center of Moscow. It arrived at Sobornaya Square at midnight on Thursday, December 12.

"At the moment I brought the Christmas tree from the Mozhaisky district. We got there - there were difficulties, of course, but it was delivered in one piece. The fir tree is very beautiful this year, fluffy, tall," - said the driver of the truck, dressed as Santa Claus, who delivered the fir tree to the capital.

The spruce was cut down on Monday in the Mozhaisky district of the Moscow region. Its age is at least 90 years, height - more than 30 meters, trunk diameter - 60 cm. The span of the lower branches is at least 8 meters.

The festive tree was chosen by a special commission, which considered more than 25 options.
