Putin supported the idea of involving IT companies in training students

Russian President Vladimir Putin has approved the proposal to attract IT companies for compulsory teaching at universities. He said this on December 11 at a meeting with members of the Russian government via videoconference.
Putin supported the idea of Russian Digital Development Minister Maksut Shadaev to involve IT companies, which enjoy tax benefits in Russia, in compulsory teaching at universities.
"The only option here is how we can ensure quality teaching, ... the only option we have identified for ourselves is to introduce a certain amount of teaching at universities and a certain amount of internships as a mandatory condition for IT companies that enjoy tax breaks in Russia," the minister said.
Putin called such a proposal fair, as it directly applies to the business of IT companies.
Earlier in the day, President Putin took part in the launching ceremony of the international alliance in the field of artificial intelligence (AI), which was held as part of the International Conference on Artificial Intelligence AI Journey 2024 in Moscow.
In addition, Putin said that artificial intelligence (AI) should not replace teachers, but can complement them. The Russian President reminded that today a human being is in charge of formulating opportunities and tasks for AI. He emphasized that only a teacher can interest a student in gaining knowledge.
