With the onset of autumn, the share of strong beer in the Russian market increased from 9.2% in July to 10.5% in September, despite the seasonal decline in overall consumption of the drink, the press service of the Center for the Development of Advanced Technologies (CDPT, the state operator of the "Honest Mark" labeling system) told Izvestia.

"At the same time, speaking in general, the beer market decreased by 6.01% in August, by 13.92% in September, and by 4.16% in October. As a result, the total market volume amounted to 777,406 liters in October, down from 805,842 liters a month earlier," the labeling system analysts said.

The leader in beer consumption in October was the Urals Federal District, where the average per capita consumption of the beverage reached 5.96 liters, the CRPT noted. Among the regions, the Murmansk region, the Komi Republic and the Sverdlovsk region stand out with figures of 7.5, 7.4 and 6.9 liters, respectively.

"At least 95% of beer consumed in Russia is produced domestically. At the same time, there is an increase in the share of imported beer from 4.58% in June to 5.89% in October. Experts attribute this to the steady demand for stronger and imported varieties of the drink," Honest Sign said.

"Despite the general seasonal decrease in sales, the share of strong beer continues to grow. This indicates that the group of consumers who prefer stronger varieties remains loyal to their choice regardless of the time of year. We observe similar dynamics among fans of imported beer", - commented in the CRPT.

Earlier, on November 1, representatives of the CRPT reported that Stary Melnik, Gold Mine Beer, BUD, Bochkarev and Löwenbräu became the most popular beer brands in consumer packaging: they accounted for 17.4% of all beer sales in June - August 2024. In August, the Urals Federal District was the leader in terms of the volume of beer sold in glass and aluminum cans per 1,000 people - 2,007 liters and 1,839 liters, respectively. The highest sales of beer in plastic bottles were recorded in the Northwestern Federal District (2,081 liters per 1,000 people), and in kegs - in the Siberian Federal District (1,135 liters).
