Actress Raisa Maximova died at the 96th year of life


People's Artist of the RSFSR, theater and film actress Raisa Maximova died at the age of 95. This was reported by an interlocutor of "Izvestia" on Wednesday, December 11.
According to the interlocutor, during the day the actress several times called an ambulance. Last month Maximova was hospitalized with pneumonia and heart failure, on November 29, the actress was discharged from the hospital.
"Yes, it's true, Raisa Maximova is gone," - TASS quotes an interlocutor from the artist's entourage.
Raisa Maximova was born in Saratov in 1929. In 1946, she graduated from the Saratov Theater School and until 1952 played on the stage of the Saratov TYUZ. In 1956, she graduated from the Moscow Art Theatre Studio School and was accepted into the theater troupe. Her fellow students were such actors as Oleg Basilashvili, Tatiana Doronina, Mikhail Kozakov, Yevgeny Yevstigneyev, Vladimir Sergachev.
In 1987 Maximova went to the Chekhov Moscow Art Theatre when the theater was divided into two groups. In 1990 she was awarded the title of People's Artist of the RSFSR, later she was awarded the Order of Friendship (1998), the Order of Honor (2005), "For Merit to the Fatherland" IV degree (2009), Alexander Nevsky (2020). She was awarded the Certificate of Honor of the President of the Russian Federation (2014).
Actress Raisa Maximova is known for her roles in the plays "North Wind", "The Star of Your Period", "Blue Bird", "At the Bottom", "The Last", "Old New Year", "Three Sisters", "Duck Hunt", "Pearly Zinaida", "Tartuffe". In addition, she starred in the films "Widows", "Idiot", "Listen, is it raining", "My Fate", as well as in the series "Law and Order".
